Le Samaritaine is the subject of a bold and innovative restoration project for a long-awaited rebirth. This is an iconic building located in the heart of Paris particularly dear to Parisians.
After nearly 30 months of restoration, Le Samaritaine building is ready to show to the world the result of a wide and audacious renovation, adopting an innovative environmental approach. In fact, in 2021 the new spaces will be inaugurated, they will host a department store, the Cheval Blanc hotel, 96 accommodation units, offices and a nursery. La Samaritaine continues to amaze and to be always at the center of the interests of Parisians, for its strategic position in the heart of the city but also for the variety of spaces offered.
Founded in 1870 by Ernest Cognacq and Louise Jaÿ, Le Samaritaine was ahead of its time, introducing a new concept of department store and revolutionizing traditional distribution. Along with the commercial aspect, the originality of the building also lies in the construction style, which has made it an authentic architectural monument from the beginning: Art Nouveau and Art Deco interact in harmony, celebrating a project that preserves an unusual vision for those days. Today, this still represents the added value of the Le Samaritaine project: the desire to make a difference by distinguishing oneself and anticipating the times. Even more today, after the restoration, the variety of function, architectural forms and construction methods characterize the building. Our way of seeing the future of design is very close to this core and we felt it since 2017, when we started to be operational in setting up these various spaces. One more piece has been added to the history of this iconic building which is going to experience an ambitious rebirth.
